Start by either looking at online directories or in you local yellow pages and call as many companies as possible.  Schedule a time for them to come out to your house and do an on site consultation.  Any company who attempts to give you recommendations or estimates over the phone should be passed over as their estimates will not be reliable.  After you have collected as many estimates as possible you can check the reputations and satisfaction rates of the companies you liked and make an informed decision.  It could be that the first company you saw will be the one you choose to go with but why take the chance when these services are available to you completely free of charge.  Getting several estimates will ensure that you get the best possible price for your project as well as arm you with a bargaining chip as some companies will match a competitors price allowing you to hire the company you like at a price you can afford.
